We had a wonderful time this week comparing/ contrasting different versions of the classic tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We did a fantastic job identifying the characters, setting, problem, and solution of each of these stories. After reading several different versions, we voted on our class' favorite. Please see the results below!

Our Study of the Three Bears
Today, we enjoyed tasting some porridge. Please see the single venn diagram we completed to find out how many of our friends liked porridge that was "just right"! Venn diagrams are a great way to collect data and compare more/ less!
Upcoming Blood Drive
I hope each of your little ones came home today excited to teach you about... BLOOD! We enjoyed a presentation today from representatives of LifeSouth, a nonprofit organization that works to help hospitals attain blood supplies through blood donations. They are working to create a "Donation Generation" with our students. What a worthy cause! Please see the information in your child's Friday Folder concerning dates and times of how you can be a part of the blood drive to be held at AEEC. Here is a picture of us with LifeSouth's mascot, the bloodhound.
Valentine's Day Fun
We had a wonderful time sharing our Valentine's with our friends! Thank you for helping your child prepare these sweet treats!
Exploring Solids and Liquids
We had a fantastic time learning about one of Africa's most well-known landmarks, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Through our research, we found that Mt. Kilimanjaro is actually made of three volcanoes. We conducted a volcano experiment to watch an actual eruption. We discussed the materials used and classified them into solids and liquids. I hope you will enjoy these "explosive" pictures and videos from our experiment.
